Flavors missed his fourth straight game Monday, but he seems to be progressing well after he recently had his cast removed from the injured finger. The Cowboys will their next game Saturday against Arkansas, so Flavors can be considered questionable for that contest at this time.

Won't play Saturday
Flavors is apparently dealing with a finger issue and will be unavailable for Saturday's game against Kansas State, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact
The news of Flavors' finger injury may explain why he's seen a sudden decrease in playing time over the past few games. Flavors started the first seven games of the season while averaging 6.6 points and 1.1 rebounds in 19.1 minutes per game. However, the 6-3 senior has come off the bench the last three games and has only seen 3.3 minutes per game over that span. His decline in usage is likely due to his finger issue and now it looks like he could be held out until he can provide meaningful minutes for the Cowboys once again.

Role greatly reduced
Flavors came off the bench and did not score a point in four minutes of action Sunday against Texas.
Impact
Flavors was replaced in the starting five by Avery Anderson, who contributed defensively along with 11 points. This was a surprising and abrupt move by coach Mike Boynton, as Flavors had started the previous seven contests and averaged 19.1 mpg over that span, twice reaching double figures. Now with a long break ahead -- the Cowboys are not scheduled for another game until Jan. 2 -- it's unclear what Flavors will have for a role in 2021.

Not starting Sunday
Flavors is not listed in the starting five for Sunday's game against Texas, Cody Nagel of 247sports.com reports.
Impact
Flavors has started in all seven games for the Cowboys this season but that will change Sunday as head coach Mike Boynton has opted to go with a smaller lineup for the game against the Longhorns. It's unclear if Flavors' demotion to the bench is a permanent decision or just a temporary tactical switch to better matchup with Texas' starting unit.
