Headed back to Orlando Johnson will transfer to UCF, the program announced.

Impact Johnson has been the ultimate journeyman in his college career, but he'll now return to the program where he spent his 2024-25 season. Last year, Johnson balled out at Tarleton State, averaging 24.0 points on 52/54/85 shooting splits. Now, the 6-foot-3 guard will return to the Knights with what appears to be one last shot to make an impact at the high-major level.

Impact Johnson, a highly touted recruit coming out of high school, finally showed his potential in 2025-26, averaging 24.0 points across 26.3 minutes per game for Tarleton State. He'll look to parlay that into a better opportunity for 2026-27.

Set to return Thursday Johnson is set to return for Thursday's game at Utah Valley, Nathan Dunn of KSL.com reports.

Impact Johnson, who has not played since Jan. 21 due to an undisclosed injury, is ready to make his return to the court Thursday. It's excellent news for the Texans as he was averaging 23.6 points per game in his 16 appearances this season, all of which were off the bench. He'll look to pick up where he left off now that he's back healthy.

Impact Johnson took to social media to dispel rumors of his health, as the star guard missed a fourth consecutive game Saturday against Southern Utah. Johnson has been one of the most prolific scorers in the country this season, having scored 30 or more points in seven of 16 appearances. He didn't offer a timeline for return, but it doesn't seem like he's close to gaining medical clearance.
