Facing three-game suspension Ramey must serve a three-game NCAA suspension to begin the season after playing in the Portsmouth Invitational, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Impact The Portsmouth Invitational is a postseason camp restricted to college basketball seniors and is the first of two NBA pre-draft camps. Since Ramey decided to withdraw from the NBA Draft and return to school, he was subject to potential consequences from the NCAA. Ramey is coming off a solid season with Texas where he averaged 9.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per contest. He will look to help Arizona replace some talent from last season's roster that secured a No. 1 seed at the NCAA Tournament. Ramey will miss games against Nicholls, Southern University, and Utah Tech. He will be eligible to return on No. 21 in a matchup with Cincinnati in the opening round of the Maui Invitational.

Impact Ramey was quite possibly the best player on the court in this contest. Not only did he end tying his season high in scoring, but Ramey also completely locked up Big 12 Player of the Year Ochai Agbaji on defense. Unfortunately it just wasn't quite enough for the Longhorns to complete the seasons sweep of the Jayhawks. Texas will look to lock up a good NCAA Tournament seed with a strong showing in the Big 12 Tournament which begins on Thursday against TCU.

Impact Ramey continues to struggled from the field. Over the last eight games he has not once scored in double figures and is averaging just 6.8 points on 29 percent shooting from the field and 18 percent from downtown. It's hard to see what Ramey has become this season after he put up 12.2 points, 3.9 assists, and 1.8 three-pointers on 41 percent shooting from downtown a season ago. Texas is in desperate need of offense, so maybe Ramey can rekindle what he had last season in the postseason for the Longhorns.
