Impact Castleton spent his first two years playing at Michigan but was never able to carve out a meaningful role for himself while stuck behind Moritz Wagner and then Jon Teske on the depth chart. He decided to transfer to Gainsville in order to be closer to home and wound up being an absolutely vital piece to the Gators' success. The team's leading scorer from last season, Keyontae Johnson (14.1 ppg), was shut down for the year after just four games due to a heart condition and Castleton stepped up in his absence as he posted 12.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in 25.8 minutes per game. The 6-11 junior performed at his best when it mattered most as he averaged 16.5 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks in the NCAA Tournament before the Gators were bounced by Oral Roberts in the Round of 32. The team has had a few other key members depart this past week, so the door is wide open for Castleton to return and potentially develop himself into one of the better two-way players in college basketball.

Effective off bench Castleton had 13 points (4-10 FG, 5-5 FT), six rebounds, two steals and two blocks across 23 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's 75-64 loss to Arkansas.
Impact This was the first game after nearly two weeks off for the Gators, and according to Brandon Carroll of Sports Illustrated, Castleton was only able to log one practice over that entire stretch. Omar Payne ultimately drew the start in Castleton's stead, but it was Castleton who ended up with more minutes and the much better fantasy day. Several outlets have suggested that Payne performs better when in the starting five, though regardless of the alignment moving forward, Castleton will almost always be the superior fantasy play. It remains to be seen if his usage will ramp up Saturday in a friendly matchup against Georgia.
