Bryce Baker - Out vs. Liberty
Baker is out for Friday's game against Liberty due to a groin injury, Jeff Goodman of On3.com reports.
Impact
Baker is day-to-day, and while he won't play against Liberty, it's unclear if he'll be able to suit up against Florida Atlantic on Saturday. Baker averaged 7.4 points and 3.1 rebounds last season while shooting 40 percent from three-point range.

Connor Hickman - Ineligible to play
Hickman (foot/ineligible) remains out for the time being and will miss more time aside from Friday's game against Liberty, Jeff Goodman of On3.com.
Impact
Hickman received a waiver for an additional year of eligibility this offseason, but it seems the NCAA has reversed course and has now deemed him ineligible. It's unclear when he'll be able to return to the court.

Mister Dean - Will miss at least one week
Dean (calf) will be sidelined for at least one week, according to Jeff Goodman of On3.com.
Impact
Dean didn't play in the season opener, and while he was deemed to be "very close" to returning, he'll be sidelined for at least a week. Dean averaged 15.7 points and 5.5 rebounds last season at USC Upstate, and when healthy, he figures to be a regular starter for Charleston.

Machot and Taylor post double-doubles to lead Charleston over Tusculum 79-58 in opener

Connor Hickman - No action in opener
Hickman (foot) did not see the court in Monday's 79-58 victory over Tusculum.
Impact
Hickman received a waiver for an additional year of eligibility this offseason and has chosen to spend it with College of Charleston, but he wasn't part of the 11-man rotation in the season opener. He's still listed on the team roster, so his absence could be attributed to his recovery from February foot surgery. Given he was a double-digit scorer and regular starter at Bradley, and he made the Cincinnati rotation before his season was cut short by injury, he'll presumably have a role for the Cougars once healthy. His next chance to take the court will be Friday at Liberty.
