Impact Phillips' 15 points were a career best for the sophomore, and they came out of nowhere. He hadn't played 20 minutes since Feb. 8, and he hadn't even taken as many as eight shots all season. Still, his 6-of-8 shooting from the field was instrumental in helping the Volunteers hang on against a surprisingly feisty Gamecocks squad.

Impact Phillips has enjoyed a more involved sophomore season in Knoxville. Though his minutes have slightly decreased since the new calendar year (down from 17.5 to 13.2) he remains a reliable bench option for the Vols. In the loss to Kentucky, he made the most of his 12 minutes, managing to get to the charity stripe four times and pulling down three rebounds.

Impact Phillips has not missed any full games due to his left shoulder problem yet this season, but he logged just three minutes due to the injury in the Volunteers' 30-point blowout loss to Florida this past Tuesday. The 6-foot-9 sophomore may still be held to a lower minute-count, but his available status does mean he should at least be able to get out on the court against the Longhorns.
