Not playing Thursday Francis (back) has been ruled out for Thursday's Atlantic 10 Conference tournament second-round matchup with Duquesne due to a hip injury.

Impact Francis was previously believed to have suffered a back injury in a loss Monday to Saint Joseph's in the Spiders' regular-season finale, but Richmond clarified that the senior guard is instead dealing with a hip injury. Regardless, the absence of their leading scorer for the start of the A-10 tournament is a huge loss to a 13-7 Spiders squad that may need a deep run to qualify for the NCAA tournament.

Impact Francis injured his back in Monday's clash but has, fortunately, avoided major damage. The senior will likely do everything he can to make it back for the first round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament, but his status may not be revealed until the team takes the floor for pregame warmups.

Suffers back injury Monday Francis injured his back in the first half of Monday's game against St. Joseph's, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reports.

Impact Francis was hit while airborne during a layup attempt. He returned to action briefly, but was unable to play in the second half, finishing scoreless on 0-4 shooting. The loss sent the Spiders to a disappointing eight-place in the A-10 entering the conference tournament. Francis can be considered questionable to play Thursday against Duquesne.
