Josef Newgarden Leads Portland Warmup; Race at 4 P.M. ET
Josef Newgarden is still recovering from a lower-leg injury suffered in a crash during the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge in May, but he still found plenty of speed Sunday in the warmup for the OnlyBulls Grand Prix of Portland.
Two-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Newgarden (photo, top) led the 30-minute final practice with a time of 58.7183 seconds in the No. 2 Astemo Team Penske Chevrolet. It was a strong recovery from NTT P1 Award qualifying Saturday for Newgarden, who qualified 15th.
