IndyCar rookie of the year Dennis Hauger joins AJ Foyt Racing

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — IndyCar rookie of the year Dennis Hauger is joining AJ Foyt Racing.

The 23-year-old Norwegian signed a multiyear agreement starting in the 2027 season. He replaces Santino Ferrucci in the No. 14 Chevrolet.

“Dennis has accomplished a lot for someone who is only 23,” team president Larry Foyt said in a statement on Wednesday. “Every time he’s moved into something new, he’s adapted quickly and he’s won. Coming over here and winning in Indy NXT as a rookie certainly got everyone’s attention, and then we watched how he progressed through his rookie season in IndyCar.”

Hauger earned rookie of the year honors while competing for Dale Coyne Racing in 2026. Last year, he won six races to claim the IndyCar NXT series title.

Hauger also won the 2019 Italian Formula 4 championship, the 2021 FIA Formula 3 title and five races in Formula 2 before moving to the United States.
