Nebraska QB Anthony Colandrea signs deal to return for a 5th and final season
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska quarterback Anthony Colandrea will return for his final year of collegiate eligibility in 2027, his marketing agency announced on social media Friday.
Colandrea, a native of St. Petersburg, Florida, spent last season at UNLV after two years at Virginia. He ranks third in the Big Ten in total offense, averaging 272 total yards a game heading into Saturday's home contest against Washington.
Colandrea has completed 62.6% of his passes for 1,570 yards with 14 touchdowns and four interceptions. He is second on the team in rushing with 334 yards and four scores.
The Huskers (5-2, 2-2 Big Ten) have lost consecutive games and play three of their final four on the road. They also host No. 2 Ohio State on Nov. 21.
The NCAA adopted a five-for-five eligibility model in June that allowed Colandrea to consider a fifth season.
