Peterson scores 23, East Tennessee State defeats Tennessee Tech 73-72

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) — Quimari Peterson's 23 points helped East Tennessee State defeat Tennessee Tech 73-72 on Sunday night.

Peterson added eight rebounds, three steals, and three blocks for the Buccaneers (5-4). Jaden Seymour scored 13 points, going 5 of 9 and 3 of 3 from the free throw line. Ebby Asamoah had 13 points and shot 4 for 9 (3 for 6 from 3-point range) and 2 of 4 from the free throw line.

The Golden Eagles (3-7) were led by Jayvis Harvey, who posted 22 points, six rebounds and four assists. The Golden Eagles missed a 3 with a second left and Harvey had a putback at the buzzer to make it a one-point game. Tennessee Tech also got 15 points from Josiah Davis. In addition, David Early had 13 points and two steals.
