News: The New Orleans Saints have placed Jenkins on the physically unable to perform list just days before the start of training camp.
Impact: Jenkins has not practiced this offseason because of a pectoral injury. A third-round pick out of Georgia in 2013, Jenkins played regularly as a rookie. He appeared in all 16 games with five starts and was credited with 21 tackles, including two for losses. He also was credited with a pair of quarterback hits.

News: The New Orleans Saints on Tuesday confirmed a multiyear contract with Graham, ending a protracted holdout for the star tight end. Graham skipped all of the Saints' voluntary and mandatory practices and workouts - and challenged the NFL's franchise tag process through arbitration.
Impact: The NFL Players Association filed a grievance, contending Graham was used as a wide receiver often enough to qualify for the more lucrative receiver tag, worth about $5 million a year more than the $7 million tag for a tight end.

News: Graham signed a four-year, $40 million contract with the Saints on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact: The deal includes $21 million in guarantees, but more importantly, Graham exceeded the franchise threshold ($7.035 million in 2014) for tight ends on a yearly basis. The 27-year-old can now focus the remainder of his prime stretching defenses and using his massive 6-7, 265 frame to outduel the opposition. Over the past three seasons, he's averaged 90 receptions (on 142.3 targets) for 1,169 yards and 12 touchdowns and has only missed one contest.

News: Graham appealed the July 2 decision that ruled he's deserving of the franchise tag as a tight end and not a wideout, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports.
Impact: Graham and the Saints still have a deadline of Tuesday at 4 PM to reach an agreement, but the appeal is a procedural move to fall back on, if talks fail. After gathering in 86 receptions for 1,215 yards and 16 touchdowns last year, he's certainly worthy of a contract in excess of the $7.035 million that the franchise tag would provide a tight end.

News: An arbitrator has sided with the New Orleans Saints in ruling that Graham can only be considered a tight end for the purposes of his franchise tag designation.
Impact: The ruling Wednesday by Stephen Burbank is a setback for Graham, agent Jimmy Sexton and the NFL Players Association, who'd filed a grievance arguing that Graham was used as a wide receiver often enough to qualify for the more lucrative receiver tag. NFL franchise tags, which allow teams to keep one prized free agent, was set this year $7 million for tight ends and $12.3 million for receivers.
