News: Byrd (back) featured in the Saints' walk through to begin Tuesday's practice, resulting in him being removed from the Saints' PUP list, ESPN reports.
Impact: Byrd also completed individual work in his debut practice session with the Saints. Although he wasn't a part of the first set of team drills, it's an encouraging sign to see Byrd, who underwent a procedure to alleviate a disc issue this offseason, back on the field. Expect the Pro Bowl safety to increase his practice workload as the week unfolds and begin building familiarity with defensive coordinator Rob Ryan's scheme.

News: Sean Payton referred to Ingram as "one of our starters" when answering a question about him on Monday, reports the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Despite finishing 2013 on a strong note, the Saints declined to exercise Ingram's fifth-year option for 2015, which would have paid him about $5.2 million in 2015, in what has been described as purely a "financial decision."
Impact: At this point, Payton's designation of Ingram is merely nominal, as his use of the plural form of "starters" is likely more telling. As Payton has done nearly every year of his tenure in New Orleans, it's expected that the Saints will once again deploy a committee or "hot hand" approach to the running game. Though Darren Sproles is gone, Ingram, who essentially enters a contract year without an extension in hand, joins a crowded backfield with Pierre Thomas, Khiry Robinson, and Travaris Cadet all expected to play a role.

News: Meachem did not practice Sunday due to back tightness, Mike Triplett of ESPN reports.
Impact: The team didn't offer any further updates on the wideout's injury, but there's no reason to expect that it's anything serious. Meachem caught 16 passes last season for 324 yards and two touchdowns.

News: Stills is dealing with minor quad tightness that has limited him a bit during the second day of training camp, Mike Triplett of ESPN NFL Nation reports.
Impact: Stills may miss the occasional reps during camp due to the discomfort, but the injury likely shouldn't affect his regular season outlook. The 22-year-old expects to see an expanded role in 2014 due to the departure of Lance Moore.

News: Morgan (knee) will be able to practice once Saints training camp opens on Friday, ESPN reports.
Impact: Morgan's 2013 season was lost after suffering a torn meniscus and partially torn ACL during a scrimmage last August. Now healthy, Morgan is expected to be eased into practice, but he'll avoid the PUP list when the Saints take the field on Friday. Doing so should help Morgan's chances of earning a roster spot for this season.

News: Byrd (back), according to Saints coach Sean Payton, should be practicing "soon than later", reports.
Impact: Byrd, who underwent a procedure this offseason to alleviate a disc issue in his back, will land on the Saints' PUP list when training camp kicks off Friday. Nonetheless, New Orleans' big money addition is not expected to be sidelined for long, which should allow him ample time to adjust to Rob Ryan's defensive scheme.

News: Jenkins (chest) was placed on the PUP list (physically unable to perform) on Monday, reports It had previously been reported that Jenkins underwent a minor pectoral surgery this summer but that he was expected to be healthy in time for training camp.
Impact: Injured players on the PUP list can come off those lists at any time, so there's little indication as to how long Jenkins is expected to be sidelined. It's possible the Saints are simply taking a cautious start with him, as Jenkins is expected to compete with Broderick Bunkley for the starting nose tackle job.

News: The New Orleans Saints have placed Jenkins on the physically unable to perform list just days before the start of training camp.
Impact: Jenkins has not practiced this offseason because of a pectoral injury. A third-round pick out of Georgia in 2013, Jenkins played regularly as a rookie. He appeared in all 16 games with five starts and was credited with 21 tackles, including two for losses. He also was credited with a pair of quarterback hits.

News: The New Orleans Saints on Tuesday confirmed a multiyear contract with Graham, ending a protracted holdout for the star tight end. Graham skipped all of the Saints' voluntary and mandatory practices and workouts - and challenged the NFL's franchise tag process through arbitration.
Impact: The NFL Players Association filed a grievance, contending Graham was used as a wide receiver often enough to qualify for the more lucrative receiver tag, worth about $5 million a year more than the $7 million tag for a tight end.

News: Graham signed a four-year, $40 million contract with the Saints on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact: The deal includes $21 million in guarantees, but more importantly, Graham exceeded the franchise threshold ($7.035 million in 2014) for tight ends on a yearly basis. The 27-year-old can now focus the remainder of his prime stretching defenses and using his massive 6-7, 265 frame to outduel the opposition. Over the past three seasons, he's averaged 90 receptions (on 142.3 targets) for 1,169 yards and 12 touchdowns and has only missed one contest.
