CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP)

Rams cornerback Cortland Finnegan is missing his third straight game on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers with a thigh injury.

Trumaine Johnson gets the start in his place.

Also inactive for the Rams (3-3) are running back Benny Cunningham, offensive linemen Mike Person, Barrett Jones and Brandon Washington, defensive end Gerald Rivers and defensive tackle Matt Conrath.

Carolina's inactive players are safety Robert Lester, defensive tackles Dwan Edwards and Sione Fua, cornerbacks Josh Norman and DJ Moore, wide receiver Marvin McNutt and running back Armond Smith.

Quintin Mikell gets the start at strong safety against his former team because Lester still is bothered by a hamstring injury.
