IRVING, Texas (AP)

The Dallas Cowboys have waived injured running back Tashard Choice.

The move was made Saturday before the team departed for Philadelphia. Rookie linebacker Bruce Carter was activated from the non-football injury list and will likely make his NFL debut against the Eagles on Sunday night.

Choice suffered a shoulder injury in the third quarter last Sunday against St. Louis, when he started before rookie DeMarco Murray set a Cowboys franchise record with 253 yards rushing against St. Louis.

If Choice clears waivers, the Cowboys will then reach an injury settlement with him.

In a tweet Saturday, the fourth-year player from Georgia Tech wrote, ''My time in Dallas has come to an end and the best is yet come. God bless.''
