New Orleans Saints receiver Adrian Arrington has missed practice on Thursday because of soreness in his right knee.

Arrington sat out all five games of New Orleans' preseason because of a meniscus tear that required arthroscopic surgery, but he returned to practice earlier this week, hoping to play in Sunday's regular-season opener against the Washington Redskins.

Saints interim head coach Aaron Kromer says Arrington began to experience soreness overnight after practicing Wednesday. It remains unclear if he will have to be held out of Sunday's game.

Arrington is entering his fifth season in New Orleans. He is a former seventh-round draft pick out of Michigan who has shown promise at times, but has struggled to earn regular playing time, largely because of injuries.
