News: Allen had no catches on one target in Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Eagles. Impact: On a more positive note for Allen's owners, fellow tight end Coby Fleener had just one reception for 13 yards on a lone target. Still, it was a discouraging night for Allen's fantasy prospects, after he posted a 4-64-1 receiving line on five targets in Week 1. It increasingly seems that both Fleener and Allen will both be poor fantasy options, as they have to compete with each other for Andrew Luck's attention, while the Colts have plenty of other weapons and also want to establish a strong running game. It's too soon to bury Allen, but he's been targeted just six times on Andrew Luck's 88 pass attempts this season.(RotoWire, )

News: Allen caught four passes for 64 yards and touchdown on five targets in Sunday's 31-24 loss to the Broncos. Impact: Allen's highlight was a 41-yard touchdown, which saw him make a nice catch on a short pass, and then race up the sideline with the help of some questionable effort by the Denver defense. It was a strong showing for Allen, after he lost nearly the entire 2013 campaign to a hip injury. He looked perfectly healthy, and still has good speed and quickness for his size. Meanwhile, fellow tight end Coby Fleener was terrible, catching three passes for 21 yards on eight targets, with one drop that notably ended in an interception. Fleener, though talented, is inconsistent catching the ball, and often seems skittish going over the middle. While not as fast as his counterpart, Allen is a much better blocker with superior hands, and generally a more physical player. It will be interesting to see how the snaps and targets are divided in future weeks, but for now we can still expect both players to have significant roles in the offense. With the Colts also at least three-deep at wideout, it will probably be hard for either Fleener or Allen to produce for fantasy owners on a consistent basis, so long as both are big parts of the offense. Allen has the upside, as Fleener has given the Colts plenty of reasons to reduce his role.(RotoWire, )
