Demaryius Thomas Den - WR
News: Thomas agreed to a five-year, $70 million contract with the Broncos on Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. (Jul 15)
Impact: Dez Bryant got most of the headlines, but Thomas and the Broncos took things even closer to Wednesday's 4 PM ET deadline before reaching an agreement. The two wideouts both signed 5-year, $70 million deals, though Bryant's reportedly contains $45 million guaranteed, whereas Thomas' contains $43.5 million. Coming off three straight seasons with 92-plus receptions, 1,430-plus yards and 10-plus touchdowns, Thomas shouldn't suffer too much from a Broncos offense that became more run oriented late last season, as there's also less competition for targets than in past years. Dez Bryant Dal - WR
News: Bryant signed a five-year, $70 million contract with the Cowboys on Wednesday, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Clarence Hill reports. (Jul 15)
Impact: The average annual value of $14 million pales in comparison to what Bryant might eventually have gotten as a free agent in 2016 or 2017, but with 64.3 percent ($45 million) of the contract guaranteed, he undoubtedly has the long-term security he was seeking. Coming off three straight seasons with 88+ catches, 1,233+ yards and 12+ touchdowns, Bryant is one of the top wide receivers -- and a likely first-round selection -- in any format. He did his damage on a modest 138 targets last season, and with DeMarco Murray now in Philadelphia, Bryant could be quite a bit busier this year. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 3:29p ET)

Antonio Gates SD - TE
News: Gates will be suspended for the first four games of the 2015 season after violating the league's substance abuse policy. (Jul 2)
Impact: With the suspension of Gates, the Chargers will look to Ladarius Green and David Johnson to fill the TE void at the onset of the season. Gates' value will take a hit come draft day, but his 12 touchdowns and 821 receiving yards from last season proves that he can still be a legitimate pick in the final rounds of standard-sized leagues for the upcoming campaign. The first opportunity for the veteran to make his 2015 debut comes against the Steelers on Oct. 12. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 4:19p ET)

DeVante Parker Mia - WR
News: Parker had successful surgery on his foot Friday morning, but he is still expected to be ready by Week 1,'s Ian Rapoport reports. (Jun 5)
Impact: Parker, the 14th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, missed the first half of his senior season at Louisville after undergoing surgery on his foot. According to's Albert Breer, Friday's procedure was needed to replace a screw from the first surgery. While the Dolphins are seemingly optimistic about Parker's Week 1 availability, the rookie wideout will likely miss valuable practice time as he tries to earn a key role in the crowded Miami receiving corps. Parker still has more than enough talent to make a significant impact in his first season, and recent reports suggest that he's looked excellent at OTAs. He's unlikely to be ready for the start of training camp, as his agent expects the recovery process to take eight weeks, Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post reports. Cam Newton Car - QB
News: Newton and the Panthers have agreed to a five-year, $103.8 million contract extension, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports. (Jun 2)
Impact: In the first three years of the deal, Newton will rake in $67.6 million, which is the record for most money in a three-year span in NFL history. His dual-threat status has resulted in at least 18 touchdown throws in each of his first four seasons and 33 total scores on the ground. However, his passing yardage has decreased in each campaign, as his receiving corps experienced some flux with the departure of Steve Smith prior to last season. Newton will aim to bounce back with the likes of WR Kelvin Benjamin (hamstring) and TE Greg Olsen. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 4:47p ET)

Adrian Peterson Min - RB
News: Peterson is in Minnesota and plans to start attending OTAs on Tuesday, ESPN's Josina Anderson reports. (Jun 2)
Impact: Peterson likely still has his eyes on a restructured contract, but he seems to be softening his stance, possibly with the hope of collecting a $250,000 bonus for attending 90 percent of OTAs and minicamp. It wouldn't be surprising to see Peterson play out the season under his current contract, because while he may want guaranteed money beyond 2015, his $12.75 million base salary is still the highest among all running backs. The Vikings view Peterson as a centerpiece, and with Teddy Bridgewater entering his second season, the Minnesota offense could be the best Peterson has played with since 2009. Tom Brady NE - QB
News: Brady has been suspended for the first four games of the 2015 NFL season for "violations of the NFL Policy on Integrity of the Game," according to (May 11)
Impact: Monday's ruling follows the release of independent investigator Ted Wells' report, which noted that it was "more probable than not" that Brady was "at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities" pertaining to the reported deflation of Patriots' game balls during the AFC Championship Game. The report further relays that the team will also be fined $1 million and will lose a 2016 first-round draft pick, as well as a 2017 fourth-round choice. It remains to be seen if an appeal could result in a reduction of Brady's suspension, but as it stands, Jimmy Garoppolo is now in line to start at QB for the first quarter of the Patriots' 2015 regular season slate. Tom Brady NE - QB
News: According to the New York Daily News, Brady will be suspended for his alleged role in New England deflating footballs. (May 9)
Impact: Reporter Gary Myers writes that Roger Goodell will likely announce his decision on Brady next week. Myers added that "It is no longer a matter of if the NFL commissioner will suspend Brady, but for how long he will suspend him," and that Goodell could choose to discipline Brady for both the cheating allegations and also Brady's refusal to cooperate with the investigation into the matter. If Brady misses time, 2014 second-round pick Jimmy Garoppolo will start. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 11:48a ET)

Melvin Gordon SD - RB
News: The Chargers selected Gordon in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft, 15th overall. (Apr 30)
Impact: The Chargers coughed up a fourth- and fifth-round pick to jump ahead of the Texans to secure Gordon, the consensus No. 2 running back in the draft. The Chargers have a few bodies at running back -- Branden Oliver and Danny Woodhead perhaps most notably -- but a true starting talent like Gordon completes the picture. The main knock on Gordon has always been his pass-catching ability, but Oliver and Woodhead will be able to pick up the slack if Gordon should need further development there. Meanwhile, it's hard to see what will stop Gordon from earning a true No. 1 running back role early on in his rookie season, if not right away. In a Philip Rivers offense, Gordon should have access to touchdown opportunities. (Source: RotoWire / Time: 9:50p ET)
