Sugar Rodgers scored 26 points and had seven 3-point field goals in a first-half barrage that led No. 20 Georgetown over Coppin State 70-54 on Wednesday.

Rodgers hit her first 3-pointer nine seconds into the game and added six more without a miss in the game's first seven minutes to give the Hoyas (6-2) a 25-8 lead.

Coppin State (2-4) led 6-5 in the early moments, but Georgetown, which has won five straight, went on a 20-2 run powered by Rodgers.

It looked as if Rodgers would shatter the school record for 3-pointers - nine - but she didn't make any field goal in the remainder of the first half. He shot three more times in the half - all 3-point attempts -- and missed them all.

The Eagles, playing their first game against a ranked-opponent in nearly three years, seemed awed in the first half. They missed 17 of their 21 field goal attempts and trailed 44-26 at halftime.

Jeanine Manley led Coppin State with 16 points.
