White says Dodson to challenge flyweight champion Johnson

Ariel Helwani of "UFC Tonight" revealed Wednesday that, according to UFC president Dana White, John Dodson is the next in line to challenge flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson. No date has been decided yet for the title rematch.
Helwani went on to say, however, that the champion told him personally that he would like it to happen at UFC 191 in Las Vegas, on Sept. 5. The two first faced one another in 2013.
The back-and-forth battle went five full title rounds, and Johnson got the decision victory. Since that fight, "Mighty Mouse" has won five more consecutive contests, four by way of KO or submission.
Dodson has appeared to have been Johnson's toughest title defense, thus far. For his part, Dodson has won three in a row since the loss in Chicago.
There has been no love lost between the two top 125 pounders, over the years. Johnson has dismissed Dodson as somewhat of a clown, and the challenger often lobs the tired old criticism of the champ that he's not an exciting fighter.
We'll keep you posted on developments with this story as they happen.
