(WATCH) Jedrzejczyk, Penne exchange words, gifts during weigh-ins
Joanna Jedrzejczyk will look to make the first defense of her UFC women's strawweight title against former "Ultimate Fighter" competitor Jessica Penne after both fighters made weight on Friday in Berlin, Germany.
Jedrzejczyk and Penne weighed 114 pounds each, but it didn't take long for the two strawweight fighters to come nose to nose and start exchanging words.
Jedrzejczyk brought out two separate pieces of jewelry to hand to Penne after the weigh-ins, which the challenger discarded immediately. Penne then answered back by handing Jedrzejczyk a ring after comparing her to the 'Lord of the Rings' character Gollum earlier this week.
Strange exchange to say the least, but both fighters seemed ready for action on Saturday in Berlin.
"No matter what happens I'm prepared for everything, Penne said. "I'll get my hand raised."
Jedrzejczyk will definitely have the crowd on her side coming from Poland as she looks to defend her new strawweight title on European soil.
"It's gonna be a war. A real war," Jedrzejczyk said.
The rest of the fighters on the card made weight with no problems to make Saturday's fight card official.
