WATCH Conor McGregor spar with boxing champion ahead of UFC 202

Featherweight world MMA champion Conor McGregor recently got some sparring in with boxing 147-pound champ Chris VanHeerden out in Los Angeles, CA. McGregor posted video highlights of their rounds on youtube and his new TheMacLife.com website.
VanHeerden is coming off an April win over Steve Claggett in Las Vegas. McGregor is readying for his rematch at 170lbs with Nate Diaz at UFC 202, after being submitted by the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt in March.
McGregor and VanHeerden sparred the right way, at least according to what we could see in the six-minute video below. Neither man dug into head shots with all their might but both gave one another some good speed, volume and the right amount of stiffness.
It is worth noting that, of course, Diaz is much larger than VanHeerden in height and weight. He is, however, a world-class boxer and is also a left-handed fighter, like Diaz.
Though VanHeerden certainly can't show McGregor Diaz's length, weight or style, he would still seem to be an excellent sparring partner because of his mastery over an area - the hands - where Diaz specializes in, and because he's also a Southpaw.
Check out the footage for yourself, above, and stay tuned for more mini-documentary style videos from McGregor, which we'll be sure to bring you right here.
