Rising welterweight prospect Vicente Luque steps in against Belal Muhammad at UFC 205, replacing Lyman Good, who was removed from the fight.

In less than a month, the biggest card in UFC history is going down. Not only is it a historic event since this will mark the first time a premier MMA organization will be making its debut in the state of New York, but the fight card is one for the ages.

In the main event, featherweight champion Conor McGregor will be looking to become a two-weight world champion when he challenges Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight belt.

Other fights on the card include a welterweight title bout between Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson, a women’s strawweight title bout between Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Karolina Kowalkiewicz, and a middleweight bout between New York native Chris Weidman and Yoel Romero.

There’s another New York native who was scheduled to compete on this card. Lyman Good was set to face Belal Muhammad, but on Monday, it was announced that he was pulled from the fight due to a potential anti-doping violation. The UFC has found a replacement.

According to MMA Fighting, former The Ultimate Fighter participant and rising welterweight prospect Vicente Luque has stepped in to face Muhammad at UFC 205.

Since his stint on The Ultimate Fighter, Luque has been on an absolute tear. He’s currently riding a three-fight win streak and is coming off of a brutal first round knockout over Hector Urbina. He’ll be looking to get another impressive victory inside of the historic Madison Square Garden.

He was unsuccessful in his UFC debut against Alan Jouban, but Muhammad made his name known. He was dropped multiple times early on in the fight, but had an impressive showing in the third round with his striking. He’s very well-rounded and tough.

He followed up that loss an impressive third round TKO against Augusto Montano this past September.

UFC 205 goes down on Nov. 12.
