Brazilian phenom Thomas Almeida is set to meet Albert Morales at next months UFC Fight Night 100 event in Sao Paulo, Brazil. MMAJunkie.com was the first to report the news of this fantastic scrap.
The event takes place Nov. 19 from the Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo. It will air after UFC Fight Night 99 which takes place on the same day from Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Almeida (21-1) will be making his first appearance since losing for the first time in his career. He was knocked out by fellow rising superstar Cody Garbrandt in May at UFC Fight Night 88. The loss snapped a 21-fight winning streak which included a 4-0 start to his UFC career. The former Legacy FC bantamweight champion also won four-post fight bonuses in his first four outings with the promotion.
Morales (6-0-1) made his UFC debut in September against Alegandro Perez, a fight in which the new comer would have to walk with a majority draw. Morales is a Bellator, WSOF and RFA veteran who prior to his call up to the UFC was undefeated in his first six pro outings. This fight is a huge step up in competition and with a win Morales could catapult himself into title contention.
