UFC: Real Madrid Wants to Host A Card Headlined by Conor McGregor
One of the biggest and most succesful soccer clubs in the world have expressed interest in hosting a UFC card.
Just when you think the demand for Conor McGregor couldn’t get any higher one of the biggest soccer clubs the world has ever seen wants the Irish star to headline a UFC card in their stadium.
Even during his early days with the promotion Conor McGregor continuously talked about how he would like to headline a stadium show in Ireland. While there are factors like the weather and time differences between Ireland and the US that make that almost impossible to book, there is now a new potential location for McGregor to headline inside a stadium.
During a recent interview with Newstalk.com a spokesman for Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu said that would be interested in hosting a UFC event but only if the event is held at a certain time of the year with a more than reasonable opportunity to plan for the event.

We would be glad if we could make a UFC event, our stadium can hold more than 80,000 fans. But the event has to be hosted from May to July.
For many this announcement may sound like a strange one but thanks to his ever-growing popularity the UFC featherweight champion has been rubbing shoulders with some of the most well-known celebrities from all walks of life including Rihanna and Real Madrid’s biggest star Cristiano Ronaldo.
With the drawing power that McGregor possesses the potential for a sell out crowd inside the Spanish stadium would almost be certain. His last outing at UFC 202 against Nate Diaz was another record-breaking one has the card became the fifth-largest in promotional history with a $7.6 million gate.
Now lets not get too far ahead of ourselves here, McGregor has a huge fight ahead of him at UFC 205. He challenges the lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez for his title inside a sold out Madison Square Garden Arena in New York. There is also talk of him taking time off after the bout so a show inside the Bernabeu could be a long way off.
