UFC 207: Adam Milstead Wants in and He Will Fight Anybody

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

UFC heavyweight Adam “The Prototype” Milstead has taken to Twitter asking Dana White for fight on UFC 207.

Milstead (8-1) is currently riding an eight-fight winning streak and is coming off a second-round TKO victory over Chris de la Rocha at UFC Fight Night 88 in May. He has impressively finished all eight of his victories in either the first or second round.

Milstead sent out two tweets Monday afternoon asking not only White for a shot at 207, but asked for fan support to help him spread his request.

Thus far only two fights have been officially announced for 207. Mike Pyle  will meet Alex Garcia and in the the main event we will see the return of Ronda Rousey who takes on Amanda Nunes for the women’s bantamweight title.

Milstead called for his addition to the card with no particular opponents in mind.

As far as who Milstead could end up fighting, there are a couple viable options.

The first and most namely would be Rulsan Magomedov, who has not fought since last October. Magomedov was supposed to fight Stefan Struve at UFC 204, but was forced out due to a staph infection. If he can get healthy in time for 207, this would be a great matchup between two men on extensive winning streaks.

Another potential option would be Todd Duffee. An impressive youngster like Milstead, Duffee is coming off a loss to Frank Mir in his last fight this past July, but had knocked out his previous two opponents before that.

UFC’s heavyweight division is chock full of young heavyweight talent looking to make their way up the rankings, and arguments could also be made for fighters such as Chase Sherman, Dmitrii Smoliakov or Marcin Tybura. With about two and a half months until UFC 207, it will be interesting to see not only if White takes Milstead up on his offer, but also who he would put him up against.
