UFC 206: Cub Swanson vs. Doo-Ho Choi Added to Toronto Card
UFC 206 has added a great featherweight scrap, as 30-fight veteran Cub Swanson and Korean prospect Doo-Ho Choi are set to square off in Toronto.
A critical bout for the featherweight division has been added to UFC 206 as Cub Swanson (23-7) will take on Doo-Ho Choi (15-1) inside the Octagon. This battle of two highly technical strikers will take place at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on December 10.
The promotion announced the news Thursday morning.
Swanson last fought in August, when he earned a unanimous decision over Tatsuya Kawajiri in the featured Fight Pass prelim of the Salt Lake City Fight Night.
The 32-year-old Palm Springs native is on a two-fight winning streak since returning from almost a year without competition. He has won eight of his last 10 contests.
Choi, 25, is coming off his second consecutive Performance of the Night bonus in July, when he knocked Thiago Tavares out in the first round.
“The Korean Superboy” is 3-0 in the Octagon and is currently on a 13-fight winning streak. The 25-year-old prospect has also knocked out his last eight opponents and has finished 11 of his last 12 bouts via (T)KO.
UFC 206 does not have a main event yet (*cough* Georges St. Pierre *cough*) but the co-main event will feature Daniel Cormier, who will defend his light heavyweight championship against familiar foe, Anthony Johnson. The rest of the fights are as follows:
