    Liz Carmouche vs. Katlyn Chookagain

Two very exciting women kicked us off inside Madison Square Garden as Liz Carmouche and New York’s own Katlyn Chookagain squared off inside the eight sided squared circle.

    Round 1:

Both ladies come out and stay at length, feeling the other out. Chookagain tries to pop her jab out toward Carmouche to potentially set up some striking combinations. Carmouche remained clam and landed some nice leg kicks and managed to land two big time takedowns.

The takedowns secure the round for the veteran, 10-9.

    Round 2:

Obviously aware that she may be one round down Chookagain came out with a little more pep in her step landed some nice punches and a leg kick. Unfortunately for the New York native Carmouche out powered her and landed another huge slam.

Katlyn put some much-needed pressure on her opponent toward the end of the second but it was too little too late.

    Another round to Carmouche, 10-9.

    Round 3:

The round started off with a bang as Chookagain, almost knowing that she needs a finish to win the fight, landed some beautiful punches followed by a huge head kick that dropped Carmouche. Katlyn followed up with some punches and elbows but Carmouche managed to survive the bull rush.

During an exchange Carmouche managed another takedown. They managed to separate but neither could mount any real offense.

    Chookagain, 10-9.

Official Decision- Liz Carmouche wins via split decision.
