Two UFC 168 drug tests flagged for inconclusive results
More than two months after UFC 168, two of its fighters are in limbo, awaiting final results of the drug testing conducted during that weekend. According to Nevada athletic commission chairman Francisco Aguilar, the tests of featherweight Dennis Siver and welterweight Siyar Bahadurzada came back inconclusive, triggering a test of their respective B samples.
Aguilar told UFC Tonight's Ariel Helwani that final results could be returned within two weeks.
An "inconclusive" result could signal many possibilities, ranging from the mishandling of a sample to a diluted sample. It does not necessarily indicate guilt.
Siver is a 35-year-old featherweight who has competed in the UFC for almost seven years, winning 11 times in 17 trips to the octagon. He's gone 3-1 since moving down to 145 pounds and during UFC 168, defeated Manny Gamburyan in a unanimous decision.
Meanwhile at the same event, 29-year-old Bahadurzada dropped his second straight, losing to John Howard via unanimous decision. He's gone 1-2 since signing with the promotion in April 2012.
Neither of the fighters have previously tested positive for any drugs, and both declined comment on the situation to Helwani.
