The UFC World podcast: Greg Jackson, Marc Ratner, Luke Barnatt

Published May. 8, 2014 3:28 p.m. ET

On the UFC World podcast this week host Gareth A Davies is joined by coach Greg Jackson, middleweight Luke Barnatt, and Vice-President of the UFC's Regulatory Affairs Marc Ratner.

Jackson insists that boring fights are "a fallacy" - his fighters have so many FOTN awards to say otherwise. He says the criticism of his fighters being boring "is a little old now".

Big Slow, AKA Luke Barnatt, reveals he has brought over Jimmy Quinlan over to take his training to next level, and explains how the fight with Sean Strickland in Berlin on May 31 came about.

Barnatt looks ahead to Matt Brown vs. Erick Silva, and sees Brown winning; he thinks he's the smarter and better fighter.

Barnatt also gives his view on Conor McGregor, who he believes will defeat Cole Miller in the headline fight at UFC: Dublin on July 19. But Barnatt believes McGregor will be defeated by Chad Mendez, Cub Swanson and Jose Aldo. He sees McGregor having an impressive finish over Miller, but then adds that he hopes Miller wins.

Marc Ratner reveals that a new cadre of Australian, German and Brazilian officials have come on board and the UFC is working to make the quantity - and quality - deeper. On getting legislation into New York, he is "cautiously optimistic". He is hoping that to "pass the senate vote" this week.
