Tarec Saffiedine out of UFC Fight Night main event against Matt Brown
The upcoming UFC Fight Night card in Denver has undergone a dramatic change following an injury suffered by main event fighter Tarec Saffiedine, forcing him out of his scheduled bout against Matt Brown.
UFC officials confirmed the injury to FOX Sports on Thursday following an initial report by MMAJunkie.com.
A groin injury sidelined the Belgian fighter although at this time there's no word on how long he will be out of action.
Saffiedine was expected to face Brown in his first fight since losing to No. 1 welterweight contender Rory MacDonald back in October.
The former Strikeforce champion's short UFC career has been marred by constant injuries that have forced him out of several bouts resulting in only two fights since joining the promotion two years ago.
Now the search is on for a replacement to step in and face Brown in the main event for the upcoming UFC card taking place on February 14 from Colorado.
Stay tuned to FOX Sports as more details emerge when a new opponent is chosen to face Brown next month.
