Stipe Miocic cracks UFC pound-for-pound rankings

Published May. 17, 2016 2:14 p.m. ET

Stipe Miocic walked in to hostile territory Saturday, but a smackdown on one of the greatest heavyweights of all time, walked away as the heavyweight champion and woke up on Monday as one of the top 15 pound-for-pound fighters in the UFC.

Miocic now sits at No. 13 in the P4P rankings, above former champions Werdum and TJ Dillashaw and one spot behind UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Miocic needed just 2:46 to finish Werdum at UFC 198 for his sixth win in his last seventh fights and second straight Performance of the Night bonus.

Werdum was ranked as high as fourth before tumbling 11 spots following Saturday's loss.

And fellow Brazilian Demian Maia jumped over Carlos Condit and Johny Hendricks to hold down the fourth spot in the tough welterweight division after his suffocating win over the ever-tough Matt Brown.
