Phil Davis still hoping for Anderson Silva fight

Phil Davis has a Fight Night engagement this Saturday in Stockholm with Ryan Bader, but he's still got one eye on "The Spider" Anderson Silva. "Mr Wonderful" called out the long-time middleweight king after his last win, in Brazil, at UFC 179.
Ahead of his FOX UFC Fight Night featured bout against Bader, Davis admitted that he still wants a fight against Silva. "Why wouldn't I?" Davis said.
"Why wouldn't he?"
Silva, of course, returns to action after a year out due to injury, at the end of this month in the main event of UFC 183. He'll be fighting Nick Diaz, who has fought at as low a weight as 160 pounds.
Phil Davis is a huge light heavyweight, that cuts weight to be able to make the 205 pound division limit. Still, the former national champion wrestler doesn't see size as an obstacle to a contest against Silva.
"He fought former light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin at light heavyweight," Davis reasoned.
"It's not a stretch. Forrest is an extremely heavy guy."
If Davis and Silva can both get past their next tests, is this a fight you'd be interested in seeing? Let us know in the comments section and on Twitter!
