Less than two years after opening the doors on the initial UFC GYM on the island of Oahu, the company announced earlier today that they will once again partner with former two-division UFC champion and coach on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter B.J. Penn to bring a second UFC GYM facility to the island.
The gym, which will be located in the Waikele Center and serve the Central and Leeward Oahu communities, is set to begin enrolling members on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, and will open its doors for workouts in early 2014.
“I’m excited to partner with UFC GYM to open another location so soon after the successful opening of our first Oahu gym nearly two years ago,” said Hilo, Hawaii’s Penn in a press release distributed by the UFC on Monday. “We wanted to expand on the west side of the island to continue to share our workouts and lifestyle that have proven successful not only for our members, but for me, personally, as well as many of the world’s most elite UFC athletes.”
The newest UFC GYM facility will feature a 30-foot Octagon, Brazilian jiu-jitsu studio, and all the top of the line strength training and conditioning equipment needed to provide members with the opportunity to sweat, move, and TRAIN DIFFERENT.
Membership incudes unlimited access to all signature classes, including Brazilian jiu-jitsu and muay thai, as well as the ability to work with a team of Personal Trainers focused on helping members achieve results and reach their goals. The new facility will also feature a UFC GYM retail store and a provate UFC GYM Kids are specializing in youth fitness.
