Only two fighters have made MMA bettors more money than Conor McGregor since 2010
UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor is currently a -490 favorite to beat Nate Diaz in the main event of UFC 196 Saturday, and even though McGregor is moving up in weight, statistics show bettors should feel pretty confident backing the Irishman.
According to Sports Interaction, McGregor has made bettors richer than all but two UFC fighters since 2010 — Holly Holm and Chris Weidman. Holm crushed sports books last year when she knocked out Ronda Rousey after opening as a 20-to-1 underdog.

McGregor has also been one of the most popular fighters among bettors, compiling the third highest number of bets over the last five years.

Ronda Rousey interestingly ranks 24th on that list, which is a bit surprising given her popularity. Rousey has been such a huge betting favorite in all of recent fights, though, that it makes little sense to put money on her.
