Mickey Gall on CM Punk: 'I'm going to beat up a superstar'
Mickey Gall got the job done with a first-round submission over Mike Jackson on Saturday night and now his life is about to change forever. He officially becomes the opponent for former WWE superstar CM Punk in his UFC debut.
Gall was guaranteed a shot at Punk if he could get past Jackson and it took him less than a minute to earn a knockdown and then a submission to get his first UFC win, securing a huge opportunity for later this year in the process.
Gall came face-to-face with Punk in the Octagon after his win and while he doesn't remember exactly what he said to the former professional wrestler, he knows what his job is now and what he has to do next.

"I'm excited to fight a superstar. I'm going to beat up a superstar," Gall told FOX Sports after his win. "I'm excited for that."
Before he even stepped in to face Jackson on Saturday night, the 24-year-old New Jersey native already predicted a dominant finish if he got the chance to face Punk in the Octagon.
Now with his second professional win and the victory needed to land the fight with Punk later this year, Gall is even more confident that he'll hand the WWE veteran a devastating loss and a very rude welcome to the UFC.
"It will probably be a little longer than this fight, but it will be a first-round finish," Gall said.
There's still no word on the exact date for the fight, but Punk has stated that he hopes to be part of the UFC 200 card on July 9 in Las Vegas at the new T-Mobile Arena.
UFC president Dana White is actually pushing for Punk's debut to happen a month earlier at UFC 199 as part of the card headlined by middleweight champion Luke Rockhold against former title holder Chris Weidman.
Either way, Punk now knows he's facing Gall later this year and after more than a year spent in training to prepare for this moment, his first fight is just around the corner.
