Martins-Eduardo fight off Fight Night

Published Oct. 30, 2013 1:00 a.m. ET

UFC Fight Night: Belfort vs. Henderson will go off with one less fight than scheduled, as injuries have scuttled the night’s only planned bantamweight bout between Johnny Eduardo and Lucas Martins.

UFC officials confirmed to FOX Sports that both fighters were out and no replacement match would be made for the prelim offering.

Eduardo (26-9) has had several injury issues since joining the promotion, pulling out of previous fights at UFC 139 and UFC 158. Due to his health problems, he hasn’t fought since May 2012, when he earned his sole UFC victory, a unanimous decision over Jeff Curran.

Martins (14-1) debuted with a loss to Edson Barboza last January, but has since rebounded with a knockout of Jeremy Larsen and a technical submission victory over Junior Hernandez, a bout which marked his shift down two weight classes to 135. His matchup with Eduardo was to be his fourth UFC bout of the year.
