Manny Pacquiao: Ronda Rousey could beat Floyd Mayweather in an MMA fight
Add Manny Pacquiao to the list of people who believe that UFC women's bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey could beat boxing's pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a full MMA fight. "I believe so. She's strong. She's strong enough to beat Floyd Mayweather in MMA," the Pac Man said during a recent interview with His & Hers (below).
Of course, Pacquiao may be biased for several reasons, including the fact that he calls Rousey a friend, and the fact that he himself will box Mayweather on May 2. Given Rousey's sudden stardom and complete dominance in MMA thus far, the topic de jour seems to be putting her in hypothetical and darn near impossible matchups against other top athletes, as a mental and gossip exercise.
UFC president Dana White has said he believes that Rousey could beat Mayweather in an MMA fight, where she simply would have more tools than Mayweather. Rousey herself has agreed.
Of course, retired former boxing world champ Laila Ali won't concede defeat to Rousey or any other woman on earth, in any type of fight.
