Las Vegas unveils the odds for Jones-Cormier and more UFC 200 fights
Daniel Cormier might be the UFC light heavyweight champion, but the sports books are rolling with Jon Jones in their rematch at UFC 200.
William Hill Betting opened the line Tuesday with Jones as a -275 favorite and Cormier is as a +210 underdog. Simply put, a bettor would have to bet $275 on Jones to win $100 or put $100 on Cormier to win $210.
Cormier has won two straight fights over top competition -- Rumble Johnson and Alexander Gustafsson -- since his original loss to Jones back in January of 2015, while Jones had been sidelined until he beat Ovince Saint Preux last weekend at UFC 197.
Despite Cormier's recent success and Jones' absence, oddsmakers likely considered that "Bones" beat "DC" four rounds to one in their first meeting, where Jones was only a -192 favorite. However, this line should move a bit as we approach July 9.
Opening as the largest favorite on the card is former heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez. Velasquez, who ruled the heavyweight division for more than 1,200 days, is coming off a submission loss to Fabricio Werdum and an extended layoff due to injury. Even so, Velasquez has been one of the most dominant heavyweights in UFC history, finishing all but two of his fights inside the Octagon.
