The Miami Hustler will meet the Detroit Superstar in San Jose.

Lightweights Jorge Masvidal and Daron Cruickshank have verbally agreed to face off at the upcoming UFC on FOX show at the SAP Center on July 26, UFC officials confirmed to FOX Sports on Thursday.

Both action-oriented fighters will come into the fight riding the momentum of recent success.

Masvidal (26-8) has won four of his last five, most recently defeating the crafty veteran Pat Healy via unanimous decision last month. His other wins in that time have come over Michael Chiesa, Tim Means and Justin Wilcox. Masvidal was at one time during his Strikeforce tenure the No. 1 contender, in 2011 losing a decision to then-champion Gilbert Melendez.

As such, he represents the most accomplished opponent yet faced by the 28-year-old Cruickshank, who has regularly impressed audiences with an unrestrained striking style heavy on flashy kicks.

Cruickshank (15-4) is coming off his most impressive win, a head kick knockout of Erik Koch during a May UFC Fight Night event. Prior to that, he stopped Mike Rio with a rarely seen wheel kick knockout. Overall, he's won three of his last four.

The UFC on FOX card has yet to name its main event, but already features a light-heavyweight clash between Anthony Johnson and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, as well as a key lightweight encounter between Josh Thomson and Michael Johnson.
