Jimi Manuwa out; Ovince Saint Preux now faces "Shogun" Rua in Brazil

Published Oct. 29, 2014 7:06 p.m. ET

It's been a day of changes at the UFC.

The latest is a switch in the main event for next weekend's UFC Fight Night card in Brazil as main event fighter Jimi Manuwa has suffered a broken foot, forcing him out of his bout against Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.

In his place steps Ovince Saint Preux, who was already competing in the co-main event on the card and now moves up to the headline spot against Rua.

UFC president Dana White announced the news on Twitter.

Saint Preux was originally scheduled to face Francimar Barroso next weekend, but with Manuwa injured the UFC opted to shift him up to the headline spot.

There's been no word if Barroso will remain on the card against a different opponent or not.

Saint Preux returns to action for the first time since August when he lost for the first time in his UFC career in a bout against Ryan Bader.  Prior to that fight, Saint Preux had won five fights in a row including four in the UFC.

UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Saint Preux will take place next Saturday night, November 8 from Brazil with the card airing live on FOX Sports 1
