Johny Hendricks and Stephen Thompson are about a day away from finally stepping in the cage and fighting to decide who steps closer to a welterweight title shot. The two contenders lock up Saturday in the Las Vegas UFC Fight Night main event to cap off a big night of fights.
All that's standing in their way now is making weight and waiting. Lots of waiting.
To get to this point, however, both men had to endure grueling training camps back home to prepare for battle. In the UFC Fight Night Countdown mini-documentary video (above), get inside both of their camps and lives.
Thompson admits that "Johny Hendricks is definitely the toughest opponent I've faced, so far," but also insists that "he's never faced anybody like me."
The wrestler turned KO artist "Bigg Rigg" is looking forward to a back-and-forth scrap. "Whenever I get hit, I'm going to hit you back harder than you hit me," he says.
"That's when all the fun begins."
