Flyweight contenders John Dodson and Zach Makovsky set to fight at UFC 187
May 23rd's already stacked UFC 187 card just got yet another solid addition as it has been announced that flyweight contenders Zach Makovsky and John Dodson will face off against one another.
The news was broken on FOX Sports 1 during the Fight Night pre-show Sunday afternoon.
The Las Vegas card will be headlined by two title bouts as middleweight champion Chris Weidman defends his belt against Vitor Belfort and light heavyweight title-holder Jon Jones takes on challenger Anthony "Rumble" Johnson.
Khabib Nurmagomedov will also lock up with Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone in a battle to decide the next No. 1 lightweight contender.
Heavyweight contenders Andrei Arlovski will also clash, as will two other top 125-pound fighters, Joseph Benavidez and John Moraga. Makovsky most recently fought and won less than two weeks ago in Colorado in an excellent grappling fight against Tim Elliott.
The former title challenger Dodson is on a two-fight win streak, having last fought and won in June, against Moraga. Dodson has won his last two fights by stoppage.
