Edgar calls out "Killer" Cub

Published Jul. 23, 2013 1:00 a.m. ET

Frankie Edgar, who is coming off a victory over Charles Oliveira at UFC 162 earlier this month, said he wants to fight Cub Swanson next.

Ariel Helwani reported on UFC Tonight, “Frankie’s management team has said that they want to fight Cub Swanson in November on the GSP vs. Hendricks card. He’d like to fight soon, because Frankie really wants to fight February 1 in New Jersey on Super Bowl Weekend. He hasn’t fought in New Jersey since 2007."

Swanson, however, isn't necessarily on board with that plan.

"Cub says fighting Frankie is his Plan B. He really wants a shot at the title next.”

Regardless of whether Swanson faces Edgar or finally gets his rematch with Featherweight champ Jose Aldo, the real winners are the fans.
