Diaz calls out McGregor in profanity-laced post-win interview
UFC lightweight Nate Diaz put on one of his best performances to date Saturday night, scoring a decision win over sixth-ranked lightweight Michael Johnson at UFC Fight Night: dos Anjos vs. Cerrone.
But the victory was the last thing Diaz wanted to talk about in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan. No, Diaz had more pressing issues to address (see video above).
"F*ck that," Diaz started. "Conor McGregor, you're taking everything I've worked for, motherf***er. I'm going to fight your f***ing a**!
"You know what's the real money fight, and it's me, not these clowns you already punked at the press conference. Don't nobody want to see that, you know you beat them already. That's the easy fight. You want that real sh*t? That right here."
That's all Diaz could muster before Rogan informed him that "we can't talk like that on FOX" and pulled the mic away. Diaz, giddy with excitement and adrenaline, smiled as he walked over to celebrate with his corner. No telling what McGregor is thinking at the moment, but with three separate call-outs Saturday night, he's certainly got options.
