Daniel Sarafian vs. Antonio Dos Santos stopped due to injury
Before an unfortunate freak injury ended the fight, Antonio Dos Santos and Daniel Sarafian had kicked off Saturday's UFC Fight Night main card in exciting fashion. In the first round, Sarafian landed a head kick, but Dos Santos ate it and struck back with a short right hand that dropped the TUF veteran.
The Sao Paulo native held on, however, and made the rest of the first round a close one with his short-notice replacement opponent. The second round didn't last long, however, as Dos Santos dislocated a finger while blocking punches from his former roommate.
Dos Santos then waved himself off to the referee, perhaps instinctually asking for a quick time out to put his finger back in its socket. He did put the finger back in place but fighters can't call timeouts for themselves, they can only tap out.
His request for time from the referee was a default submission and the referee correctly stepped in and called a halt to the action, handing the TKO win to Sarafian. The win snapped a two-fight losing streak for Sarafian and a four-fight win streak for Dos Santos.
