Dana White: Ronda Rousey wants superfight with 'Cyborg'

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

UFC president Dana White says that a fight between former bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and Cris "Cyborg" Justino could still happen in the future.

White said on the UFC Unfiltered podcast that there are still issues with getting the fight confirmed, including settling on a weight for the bout.

Rousey (12-1) usually fights at 135 pounds, while Justino (17-1) has made two appearances in the UFC at a 140-pound catchweight.

"Listen, Ronda wants to fight her," White said. "We'd have to figure out what weight, [but] Ronda wants that fight."

Justino last fought at UFC Fight Night in Brazil, scoring a second-round TKO over Lina Lansberg.

Rousey has not fought since losing her bantamweight crown in shocking fashion to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November. Since that fight, the bantanweight title has changed hands twice.

"There aren't enough 145-pound female fighters to start a 145-pound division," White said. "There just isn't. Cyborg is one girl, floating out there, who has that type of star power. She headlined Brazil for us."

White has said that it is possible that Rousey will fight again before the end of the year, but ruled out her fighting at UFC 205, which scheduled for Nov. 12 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
