Cris 'Cyborg' vs. Germaine de Randamie in the works for UFC 201
It looks like Cris "Cyborg" Justino's return to the Octagon will happen sooner rather than later, with a catch weight bout against Germaine de Randamie in the works for UFC 201 in Atlanta.
According to a report via "UFC Tonight" on Wednesday, the matchup between Cyborg and de Randamie is targeted for the July 30 card, but it's not a done deal just yet.
Assuming the fighters both agree to the matchup, it could be a major addition to a growing UFC 201 card, which is featuring welterweight champion Robbie Lawler against Tyron Woodley in the main event.
Cyborg just recently made her UFC debut where she needed just 81 seconds to dispatch Leslie Smith by first round TKO at UFC 198.
Many consider Cyborg the best pound-for-pound fighter in women's MMA. And after her an impressive debut, it looks like the UFC was ready to book her for another fight right away.
De Randamie just fought at UFC Fight Night in Holland on May 8 where she defeated Anna Elmose with a devastating first round TKO, moving her record to 3-1 inside the Octagon.
The matchup between Cyborg and de Randamie could put two of the best strikers in the women's division against each other, with the fight expected to take place at 140 pounds.
Following initial word from "UFC Tonight" about the fight, "Cyborg" took to Twitter to deny the report while also saying that her next bout would be at 145 pounds in Invicta FC where she's the featherweight champion.
