Corey Anderson set to battle Tom Lawlor at UFC 197

Published Jan. 14, 2016 8:00 p.m. ET

"Ultimate Fighter" season 19 winner Corey Anderson will look for his third straight win when he takes on "Filthy" Tom Lawlor at UFC 197 on March 5 in Las Vegas.

Anderson, who is coming off a unanimous decision win over Fabio Maldonado in November, called out Lawlor on Twitter and Lawlor gladly accepted. The UFC confirmed Thursday the bout was indeed locked in for the March fight card.

Lawlor, also an "Ultimate Fighter" alum, is 10-5 overall and is coming off back-to-back finishes against Gian Villante and Michael Kuiper, respectively, but has fought just once since 2013. Anderson, 7-1, has looked impressive since entering the UFC, winning four of his first five fights.

UFC 197 is headlined by the lightweight title fight between Conor McGregor and Rafael dos Anjos and also features Holly Holm's first title defense when she takes on Miesha Tate in the co-main event.
