CM Punk's UFC debut mocked during WWE Backlash (Video)
CM Punk’s UFC debut went worse than expected, and The Miz and Dolph Ziggler made fun of it during their match on WWE Backlash.
CM Punk famously left the WWE to pursue a career in the UFC. It took him a full two years to make his debut since he kept getting injured. Then once he stepped into the Octagon, the fight was over in less than two minutes. After a performance like that, it’s highly doubtful that his UFC career will last more than one fight.
CM Punk didn’t leave the WWE on good terms, and once he was gone, he held nothing back against them. He called out the company on numerous occasions, and even referred to their locker room as “slobs.” As such, they must’ve taken lots of pride in seeing him get pummeled over the course of two minutes, and they didn’t even take 24 hours to make fun of him over it.
In fairness to Punk, it took a lot of courage to actually step into the Octagon like that. MMA isn’t something you can just pick up, and his footage during training camp suggested he had no chance of winning. But by actually fighting, he’s done something that very few people in WWE have attempted, and even fewer have actually succeeded in.
Even UFC star Conor McGregor, who once called everyone in the WWE “pu**ies”, commended CM Punk for actually stepping into the Octagon. Still, if you were a WWE fan who was let down by CM Punk’s debut, that was still hilarious to watch.
