Chael Sonnen and Drew Dober join UFC World
On this week's UFC World podcast Chael Sonnen talks Ronda Rousey, psychological warfare and discusses the UFC 173 card. Sonnen believes Jake Ellenberger needs to make the step up to contender against Robbie Lawler, Dan Henderson should not be written off against Daniel Cormier, whom he rates highly, and TJ Dillashaw needs a lucky break against Renan Barao to unseat the champion.
Drew Dober admits he was a nerdy kid until his decided at 14, with the agreement of his mother, who raised him as a single parent, that he was taking up MMA. Dober also talks of his delight at being named alongside
Chael Sonnen as a podcast guest, and that he's happy to play the heel against Nick Hein in Germany at UFC Fight Night Berlin on May 31. He also weighs in on UFC 173.
On Ronda Rousey, Sonnen says: "She's the whole thing for women's MMA. I know there are some girls who don't get along with her but, at the end of the day, when they put their heads down at night they've got to be grateful."
Saying that, there are some other girls that aren't too far behind. I think that Miesha Tate has done a great job and Gina Carano has a place in it all. But Ronda is the one coming out and making things happen. She's the one who said this is a fight and we can be ladylike after it's over. She's been refreshing, compelling and entertaining."
